Epson production facility achieves highest RBA recognition for responsible manufacturing

Philippines facility awarded Platinum status following independent assessment of labour, health and safety, environmental and ethical standards

Epson has achieved Platinum recognition, the highest level awarded under the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Validated Assessment Program (VAP), at its Epson Precision (Philippines), Inc. (EPPI) production facility.

The recognition follows an independent assessment covering key areas of responsible business practice, including labour standards, health and safety, environmental performance and business ethics.

Epson joined the RBA in 2019 and voluntarily participates in VAP assessments at its principal manufacturing sites as part of its approach to responsible manufacturing and supply chain management. Epson production facilities in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, China and the Philippines have all achieved Platinum recognition through the programme.

Akifumi Takei, Executive Officer and General Administrative Manager of Epson’s Production Management Division, said, “Epson places a strong emphasis on sustainability as a foundation for creating the social value envisioned in its long-term corporate vision, Engineered Future 2035, and, as an RBA member, we operate our businesses in compliance with the RBA Code of Conduct.

“By participating in the RBA’s VAP audits, Epson will continue to verify that its products are manufactured with due consideration for human rights and the global environment.”
