Tehnologija bez toplote kompanije Epson ne zahteva korišćenje toplote tokom procesa izbacivanja mastila. Umesto toga se primenjuje pritisak na Piezo element, koji se savija unazad i unapred ispaljujući mastilo iz glave za štampanje. Nasuprot tome, druge tehnologije rade sa toplotom.
