Epson establishes its full range of EcoTank mono printers

Building on the success of its EcoTank range, Epson has announced two new models to complete its mono focused portfolio of ink tank system printers (M1170, M2170). Providing all the benefits of a laser printer but with the impressive cost-savings associated with EcoTank, these durable, fast and energy efficient printers are designed for users and businesses that need a low-cost solution to print a high volume of black and white documents.

Timothy Thomas, Consumer Sales manager, Epson South Africa says, “Our ink tank system printers have reached more than 30 million sales worldwide as they’ve proved such a reliable, cost-effective and efficient printing system ¹. These new EcoTank mono models will build on that success, by providing users and small businesses a solution to dramatically reduce their cost of printing, with savings of up to 50% in three years compared to monochrome laser printers ².”

The economical EcoTank provides a fundamentally different solution to laser printers. Providing an extremely low cost per page, users could print up to 11,000 pages in black from the bottles included with the printer ³. The printer’s large refillable ink tank is filled using ink from the included bottles, instead of toner. Replacement ink bottles are affordable too and save the user up to 90% on their cost per page ⁴.

The portfolio of EcoTank mono printers caters for a range of users and businesses with single function (M1100, M1120, M1140 and M1170), 3-in-1 (M2140 and M2170) and 4-in-1 printers (M3140 and M3170). Users can find a model to suit their needs with specific models offering double-sided printing, Automatic Document Feeder, 150 sheet or 250 sheet tray, plus different connectivity solutions such as USB, Wi-Fi and Ethernet.

Fitting for a busy work space, these models minimise supply changes and do not require warm up time with fast print speeds up to 20ppm ⁵. Testament to the durability and reliability of these printers, each model comes with a standard one-year warranty and promotional three-year warranty (total of three years).

The printer has been intelligently designed with a compact footprint and the tank positioned at the front rather than to the side. This allows the ink levels to be viewed from the front, giving more flexibility as to where the printer can be placed. For a mess-free experience, the bottles feature an airflow system so squeezing is not necessary during the filling process.The mono printers are energy efficient, helping to minimise energy usage and subsequently reduce overheads. Compared to mono laser printers, users could save up to 95% in power consumption ⁶.
