King Faisal University Selects Epson Projectors to Enhance Collaborative Learning Experience

King Faisal University (KFU) was founded in 1975 and is in Al-Hasa City in the eastern region of the Kingdom. Today the University provides world class education through its 14 colleges in subjects such as Agriculture Science & Food, Veterinary Medicine, Education, Business Administration, Medicine, Dentistry, Science, Computer Science & Information Technology, Clinical Pharmacy, Engineering, Applied Medical Sciences, Arts, Applied Studies & Community Service and Law.

The University aims to become one of the leading universities in the region in scientific research. KFU also focuses on hosting conferences and seminars for scientific and cultural enrichment and has organised more than 66 local and global conferences. Additionally, KFU’s faculty have presented at more than 300 scientific conference and seminars in KSA and abroad.

This special focus on knowledge enrichment through conferences and interactive events, created a need to embrace collaborative technology solutions that are reliable and ensure flow of information exchange.

To excel in all disciplines of scientific research and achieve its goals, KFU needed to provide an interactive experience to its students, employees and partners. Therefore, the University identified a need to collaborate with a trusted technology partner that can provide interactive and long-lasting projection solutions to fulfill the different requirements of presentations in classrooms, meeting rooms, and auditorium.

The university was keen to use projector technology that would provide superior interactivity and real-time experience to allow education and information exchange among students, lecturers, and partners.

KFU’s technical department decided to meet with more than one technology provider including Epson, to understand how they can support the university’s goals.

The Epson team met with KFU’s technology department and based on their needs, suggested using EB-1430Wi, EB-595Wi, EB-G7900 and EB-L1505.

The team was impressed how Epson projectors could turn any wall, flat surface or existing dry-erase board interactive; enable multiple users to touch, draw, select and interact using intuitive and familiar gestures; no need to erase for more space, just add a new page using Epson proprietary software; share written content digitally and annotate simultaneously with both local and remote participants collaborating from mobile or other smart devices; wirelessly share and display content from iPhone, iPad and Android devices; and connect video conferencing equipment to simultaneously display people and content side by side.

All Epson projectors are based on 3-chip LCD technology for amazing colour, incredible detail and solid reliability. Epson projectors have up to 3x Brighter Colours than their leading competitive 1-chip DLP projectors.

Considering all the factors, the KFU team decided to go with Epson for their collaborative teaching and learning needs.
