Superfast Labels enhances operational flexibility with the Epson SurePress

Superfast Labels has again chosen next generation Epson technology to ensure it continues to deliver fast, responsive and high quality work.

This time the self adhesive label producer based in Sittingbourne, Kent, picked a SurePress L-6534VW to support greater operational flexibility and drive higher production output.

The latest system follows investments from Superfast in a number of Epson technology solutions. The long-term relationship began with the purchase of the UK’s first SurePress L-4033A. It was filled to capacity from day one and quickly lead to the addition of a SurePress L-4033AW press. Both presses were run beyond Epson’s stated daily output achievements.

Based on the reliability of its previous additions Superfast Labels then purchased the first SurePress L-6034VW in the UK.

Director Scott Obermuller explains: “At the time of the first investment, the SurePress L-4033A was the best press on the market within our price range. We knew it would suit our needs as a business. We also knew that bringing all the digital work we outsourced back in-house would please our clients, increase quality, and put us in control of lead times.”

He added that rigorous research was conducted prior to making the final choice: “We visited LabelExpo and evaluated all press capabilities from products on the market at the time and press purchase costs. Epson was also briefed with the potential output volumes, average run lengths, required quality and resulted in the first initial SurePress purchase.”

He continued: “The SurePress quickly proved to be worth its weight in gold. It helped us gain more business and transition flexo work over to digital.”

The reliability of Epson technology, and the strong business relationship created, lead to further investment including the latest system that was chosen for reliability and quality as well as affordability.

Says Scott: “We liked its large colour range, quality, and its ability to increase our opportunities to create value-added applications without high costs to the client. We expect it to deliver high output, high quality, and reliability.

He adds: “The Epson VW presses have opened up various new markets with advanced embellishments. This has been through word of mouth and other brands seeing our work in the market.”

He concludes: “With our standard three day turn around, and even same day print, the presses have to be reliable to ensure customer satisfaction and committed lead times are adhered to. This also helps us maximise the investment return. We expect a high yield return and the investment to pay for itself as soon as possible.”
