Epson announces its newest high-speed, most eco-efficient POS receipt printer for retailers and hospitality providers

Epson Europe, the leading manufacturer of POS receipt printers [1], has launched its latest generation of high-speed, market leading T88 series POS receipt printers.

Building on the success of its predecessors, the new TM-T88VII POS printer features a range of design, connectivity, usability and environmental improvements. Fully compatible with its T88V and T88VI predecessors, the new TM-T88VII is tailored to meet the demanding needs of busy retail chains and hospitality outlets across EMEAR.

The new POS printer includes many environmental advantages including small print margins to save paper, low power consumption and reduced noise levels. The printer is also compatible with eco-friendly, phenol-free thermal papers.

As a flagship Epson POS receipt printer, the new TM-T88VII offers the fastest print speed available in today’s market with high-speed printing of up to 500mm/s. Additional features include multi-language functionality, new LED indicators and automatic wireless print-out of error details. It also includes Epson’s award winning and highly reliable printhead that is capable of providing over 20 million lines or 200 kilometres of output, with a MTBF of 360,000 hours [2].

TM-T88VII is fully compatible with existing T88V and T88VI software and the printer has the same area footprint as previous models, meaning businesses can quickly update to the new printer without additional costs, operational downtime or any need to alter the design or space requirements on their existing retail counters.

Available in both black and white, with a new top cover design; the Epson TM-T88VII can be dynamically shared with PC-POS terminals, mobile devices and the cloud. With built-in Ethernet and USB, along with options including serial, Powered USB and WiFi [3], it has the flexibility to connect to almost any system. It also facilitates printing from web-based applications using Epson’s ePOS-Print® or by using Server Direct Print technology for printing directly from the web.

Roberto Peris, product manager, Epson Europe, added: “Building on the success of the T88 series, our new TM-T88VII receipt printer is ideal for busy retail stores and hospitality providers across EMEAR that operate with many counters and demand high performance and reliable receipt printing. We have made it easy for customers to update their existing receipt printers to take advantage of the new enhancements on offer. The TM-T88VII is an industry-leading, high-performance, eco-efficient receipt printer that is designed to provide speedy reliable printing in the most demanding retail and hospitality environments.”

The new TM-T88VII will be available across EMEAR from 1 October 2021.
