TM-m30: Epson’s gateway to tablet POS printing

With the growth in e-commerce and an increasing trend towards experiential shopping, point-of-sale manufacturers are seeing the need to develop technology that enhances the shopper experience and speeds up in-store transactions.

While large retailers can afford to implement complex, integrated systems, smaller boutique stores tend to be left behind. Epson, manufacturers in innovative printing and projection technology, have developed a product best suited to specialist outlets, replacing the traditional cash register with a compact device that acts as both a transaction port and stock information device.

With the current migration to cloud-based system management and mobile functionality, the TM-m30 is designed for hospitality and boutique retail environments looking to move to a tablet POS system.

One of the smallest stationary POS printers in the world[i] and focused on mobile connectivity and a reduced carbon footprint, the TM-m30 can be paired with any NFC-equipped mobile device or tablet. ePOS print[ii], the printer's built-in intelligence system that communicates with web applications, allows direct printing from any mobile device without the need to install or update drivers, and is available for iOS and Android.

Hugh Davies, product manager, Epson South Africa, says: “With its sleek, stylish and compact design, the new TM-m30 is ideal for tablet POS applications and fits perfectly into small and medium-sized retail and hospitality environments. The TM-m30 provides a cost effective POS device that assists retailers to operate more efficiently and productively. With Ethernet, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi interfaces, it can be integrated into virtually any operating environment and provides staff with an easy-to-use, fast, and on-demand printing solution to improve the customer experience.”

Functional, as well as pleasing to the eye, the TM-m30 can be installed either horizontally or vertically by easily swapping its two covers. For retailers looking to replace their traditional POS solution, the new DM-m30 optional display matches the modern design of the device, and a tablet stand is also available.

Available in both black and white, this printer can print receipts in multiple greyscales, with advanced graphic and barcode printing capabilities that allow for highly customised layouts of receipts, including logos and promotional messages, that can be added with ease – all of this with the quality you’d expect from the number one POS printer manufacturer[iii].

The TM-m30 is now available in South Africa and queries can be directed to Hugh Davies at the local Epson office.
