Epson announces first dye sublimation transfer paper for textiles

07 July 2014 – Epson has announced the launch of Dye sublimation (DS) Transfer Production Paper, its first dye sublimation material. Optimised for use with the Epson range of SureColor SC-F series printers and UltraChrome DS inks, the DS Transfer Production Paper is unique to Epson and has been specifically developed to meet the demands of high volume productions of textiles,r for fashion and soft signage applications.

DS Transfer Production Paper is lightweight (75gsm) and designed to dry quickly and to avoid the paper from getting wavy after printing. Its high ink transfer to textile substrates capability, even with heavy ink loads, maximises ink use efficiency and produces consistent high quality, sharp images and vibrant colours. The excellent dimensional stability of DS Transfer Production Paper during the printing and ink transfer process makes the paper easy to handle and reduces any potential waste of paper, ink and textile while maximising production.

Vernon Mellors, business account manager at Epson South Africa says: : “Our first transfer paper gives end users total peace of mind by providing a complete solution comprising Epson printers, ink and media, which have been optimised to work together to ensure the best all-round quality and performance for textile applications.”

The DS Transfer Production Paper is compatible with the SureColor SC-F range of dye sublimation printers and is available in two high-volume roll sizes: 1.08m x 152m and 1.62m x 175m.

The Epson DS Transfer Production Paper will be on display at FESPA Africa from the 2nd   4th July 2014 for the first time to the South African market.
