FESPA Africa exclusive: new super-fast 44-inch large format production printer

Epson has launched the new 44-inch (111.8cm) addition to the SureColor SC-P series at FESPA Africa. The SC-P10000 follows in the footsteps of the recently launched 64-inch (162.6cm) SC-P20000. Both innovative models are easy-to-operate and produce accurate, superior-quality, large-format photos, POS items and signage - even at super-fast speeds. Customers can now benefit from all of the features from the range, but print items of a smaller size.

The SC-P10000 is an optimal solution for photo labs, photo and copy shops, print production houses and corporates looking for an in-house solution. In these highly demanding scenarios, users need a printer which yields prints of the highest quality and delivers exceptional productivity – at 600x600 and higher. As such, the SC-P10000 incorporates the new PrecisionCore MicroTFP printhead to produce outstanding results, even in fast print modes. Users can be assured of its smooth operation with its high-precision media feed technology, including a newly developed camera-based paper feed stabiliser and media inductive roller system.

Vernon Mellors, LFP Business Account Manager at Epson South Africa said: “We’re really excited to unveil at FESPA Africa our new 44-inch model. It’s ideal for high volume copy shops that need to print at superfast speeds - without compromising on quality. Our customers’ needs continue to evolve and so it’s essential for us to expand our portfolio and technologies to fulfil their requirements.”

Accurate colours, smooth gradation and fine detail set superior prints apart. Epson ensures its customers can be competitive and deliver precise and reliable results on all of these fronts with its new UltraChrome Pro 10-colour ink-set. The new high density Photo and Matte Black inks and four levels of black combine to provide a rich and excellent tonal range in reproduction. Furthermore, reduced graininess and improved gradation is achievable with the K4 and Multi Size Droplet Technology (MSDT).

Fuss-free printing is also made possible with the SC-P10000. Operating the printer is easy with the large colour LCD Panel, which guides the user with illustrations. Changing and switching media is quick and effortless, plus the transparent printer cover window and roll cover window allow users to check the status of printing and remaining media. The optional HDD also allows jobs to be reprinted directly from the printer panel, without the need for a PC.

Maintenance is also made easy so that users can be self-reliant and reduce their costs. After printing, the position of the printhead means that it can be easily cleaned by the user, along with the ink cap. In addition, users can manage the colour stability of their printers without the need for expensive add-ons with the Epson Colour Calibration utility.

Epson ensures its printers and inks are highly economical, as efficiency is always a concern for any business. An optional Adobe post script module can be used with the SC-P10000 to further increase the user’s efficiency and workflow.
