Reliable colour reproduction (DE2EN)

Meerbusch, 1 December 2016 – Epson presents the SureColor SC-P5000, a new DIN A2+ (17-inch) printer, with up to 99 per cent Pantone Solid Coated Colour-matching accuracy1 thanks to its HDX inkset with the option of choosing violet or LLK setups. The new P5000 with violet ink is ideal for pre-press proofing applications in the packaging and advertising industries, while the LLK version is recommended for art prints, professional photography and fine art applications. The new SureColor SC-P5000 is available at specialist retailers from January 2017 and replaces the extremely successful Stylus Pro 4900. The SureColor SC-P5000 with 17-inch printing width, the 24-inch SureColor SC-P7000 and the 44-inch SureColor SC-P9000 complete the Epson SureColor P-series printer range. The prices for the new SC-P5000 are yet to be confirmed.

Frank Schenk, Head of Professional Graphics & Industrial Printing at Epson Deutschland GmbH, says: “Designers, photographers, artists and other print service providers know how important precise colour reproduction is. The new SureColor SC-P5000 with violet HDX ink option enables up to 99% reproduction of Solid Coated Colours. Photographers and other artists use the LLK option to create particularly impressive art prints using a range of different media. Of course, the SureColor SC-P5000 stands out due to its easy handling and high level of reliability, as do all of Epson’s professional printing solutions.”

The SureColor SC-P5000 was designed to ensure the smoothest possible operation. Featuring a newly developed cover in conjunction with special seals to prevent dust intrusion, an automatic nozzle check and a guided cleaning procedure for reliable maintenance-free operation. The Epson PrecisionCore printhead technology fitted in the SureColor SC-P5000 uses UltraChrome HDX ink to produce up to 3.5 pl droplet size and ensures excellent quality and improved durability. The SureColor also offers the option of selecting UltraChrome HDX ink in either violet or LLK setups. All leading RIP manufacturers already support the P5000 and an optional built-in SpectroProofer is also available.
