Epson to show diversity of applications and five SureColor printers at Sign & Digital UK

See the latest applications from signage and display to giftware, textiles and photographic on Stand D30,

Sign & Digital UK (24-26 April 2018, NEC).

Epson’s flagship, 10 colour, large format signage printer, the SureColor SC-S80600 will feature on Epson’s stand at Sign & Digital UK this year, alongside four other SureColor printers: the production signage printer SC-S60600; the photographic quality SC-P20000; the latest dye sublimation printer SC-F9300; and the Direct To Garment SC-F2100. Visitors can expect to see a wide range of applications including car wraps, floor vinyls, wallpaper, stretch fabric, furnishings and also a selection of Chromaluxe panels and 3D sublimation samples.

Phil McMullin, sales manager, Epson UK says: “This year there has been resurgence in interest in eco solvent-based inkjet technology. We have seen companies like AD Bell and Motion turn away from latex in favour of our SureColor SC-S family of printers.”

Both companies chose the popular Epson SureColor SC-S80600 ten-colour eco-solvent inkjet technology. This printer uses Epson’s latest generation Micro Piezo TFP print head for exceptional print quality up to 1,440 x 1,440dpi resolution. The ten colours for this printer are from the UltraChrome GS3 range allowing printers to hit up to 98% of the Pantone colour gamut from 700ml ink tanks.

“We expect a very strong turnout for Sign & Digital as printers look at ways they can harness wide format inkjet technology to create top quality work productively. We make much of the fact that we manufacture our own printheads, ink and equipment but it really is the key to maximising process control and optimising the quality of product. We are also finding the market pressing for technology that will allow them to offer a more diverse portfolio of products to their clients, a strategy that enhances and cements business relationships,” says Mr McMullin.

The stand will also include a display of the latest fashions from young fashion designer Richard Quinn who received the inaugural Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design from Her Majesty The Queen at Fashion Week this spring.

“Epson makes a point of supporting educational projects and young people starting out in their career and our association with Richard Quinn has been a spectacular success,” says Phil McMullin, sales manager of Epson UK. “He is so creative with his subversive spin on vintage styles but he is also practical, looking to see how he can harness different technologies and materials for maximum impact. We are very proud to be associated with him and to be able to show his work at this show.”

On the middle day, Wednesday 25 April, Phil McMullin will be part of a six-person panel debate on “The future of our industry”. This will be a varied discussion looking at what makes a successful sign and printing business through to the future for wide format technology, the skills required and the changes in consumer expectations moving forward.
