Epson teams with up and coming textile designer to print cushion covers ‘to-order’ at Heimtextil

12th January 2014 – At Heimtextil this week Epson shows how it has transformed the vibrant oil paintings produced by artist Bryony Benge-Abbott into a range of beautiful and contemporary soft furnishings using the innovative range of SureColor inkjet printers. Plus, every day during the show, Bryony will show just how easy it is to print cotton cushion covers in minutes using the Epson SureColor SC-F2000 direct-to-fabric table-top printer.

At Heimtextil, ‘Blooming Bryony Designs’ are used throughout the Epson stand (F15 Hall 4) – on the walls, curtains, table tops, chairs and cushions – and all have been printed using Epson SureColor printers.

“Epson SureColor technology has given me the freedom to explore new ways to produce a variety of ‘Blooming Bryony’ décor products that I would never have thought possible before,” says Bryony. “My designs are inspired by nature and incorporate rich colours with delicate motifs and it’s very important they transfer onto textiles and other substrates exactly as I created them. Using Epson SureColor printers I can experiment with different media to create high quality wallpaper and textiles for curtains, cushions, and upholstery. The ability to print relatively small batches of a particular design means that I can produce exactly what I need, when I need it and print to order very easily. I can test my designs and react to changing market trends, without the danger of holding unwanted stock. I used to think digital print technology was only for large organisations, but Epson has developed printers that give small design businesses like mine the power to take my designs in many new creative directions. There really seems to be no limits”

Richard Barrow, Senior Product Manager, Epson Europe, says: “Our inkjet technology is designed to give textile designers and producers the ultimate in quality, flexibility, and reliability and all at an affordable price. We offer a range of printer and inks giving a choice of solutions to suit specific applications and productivity requirements from low-volume entry level use – to high-volume, professional use.”
