Epson announces the launch of the SureColor S7100, the latest addition to its next-generation lineup of large format signage printers. Building upon the success of the SC-S40600, which has achieved over 11,000 units in global sales, the SC-S7100 is designed with a strong emphasis on reliability, productivity, ease of use, and exceptional print quality.

The SC-S7100, a 4-colour eco solvent printer, incorporates advanced technologies that enhance both user experience and output quality.

Key features of the SC-S7100 include:

  • New Printhead Technology: The upgraded PrecisionCore Micro TFP printhead, measuring 1.33 inches wide, facilitates faster printing and an expanded print width in a single pass, increasing the number of nozzles from 360 to 400.
  • Nozzle Verification Technology (NVT): This automated nozzle condition detection system alerts users to any issues, ensuring optimal printer performance.
  • Improved Speed and Productivity: The SC-S7100 sports a productivity increase of 23.8% in default mode (Vinyl at 6-pass) compared to the SC-S40600, significantly reducing production times without compromising image quality.
  • Larger Ink Packs: Transitioning from 700ml cartridges to 800ml ink packs lowers the frequency of ink replacements, while being 84% lighter and generating 91% less waste per pack, aligning with Epson's sustainability goals.
  • Robust Media Feeding System: Advanced media feeding technology ensures accurate media handling and reduces potential damage through enhanced tension control and a reinforced media feed roller.

Additional features of the SC-S7100 include:

  • Text Sharpness Feature: This function enhances the precision of small text printing, improving readability and the line width of white text for finer detail.
  • Carriage Temperature Sensor: Quickly detects temperature differences, enabling precise temperature compensation to minimise colour variations. This feature maintains consistency between the beginning and end of long print jobs by compensating for changes in ink temperature and nozzle surfaces caused by the platen heater.
  • User-Oriented Interface: A 4.3-inch touch panel allows for effortless management of ink levels and other functions.
  • LED Lighting: This feature enhances visibility during print operations, enabling users to easily monitor the printer's status.
  • Epson Cloud Solution PORT: Users can leverage this intuitive solution to gain real-time insights into printer production statistics, equipment utilisation, and service information, enhancing workflow efficiency.

Chris Davies, Head of C&I product management, Epson Europe, stated, “The SureColor S7100 embodies Epson's ongoing commitment to innovation and dedication to supporting signage professionals. With its enhanced productivity, the SC-S7100 enables users to produce high-quality signage, ensuring reliable performance backed by UltraChrome G3 inks.”

“Designed to meet the diverse needs of the signage market, the SC-S7100 combines advanced technology with many user-friendly features. With its robust capabilities, Epson aims to set the highest quality and reliability standards for large format signage printing.”
