Epson Unveils ‘Exceed Your Vision’ Mural at Labelexpo 2019
Labelexpo, Brussels, Tuesday 24 thSeptember –Epson unveils ‘Exceed Your Vision’, a mural made of labels printed by the company’s new on-demand and industrial label inkjet printers.
The mural is comprised of hundreds of labels printed by Epson’s new SurePress industrial label press and its latest range of ColorWorks on-demand inkjet printers. The installation is designed to demonstrate the flexibility of on-demand label printing, where bespoke runs of labels can be instantly created to meet specific requirements.
Muralist Sarah Hodgkins of Charlotte’s Designs, who devised the piece, comments: “This mural is a fusion of art and technology and makes for a compelling focal point for the stand.
“I thought an eye image was a nice play on Epson’s tagline ‘Exceed Your Vision’. By adopting a mosaic format, I was able to showcase the different finishes, colours and textures that Epson printers can achieve. I used a matte finish for the skin around the eye and a reflective finish for the eye itself. The other big advantage of using Epson’s printers was that I could use a subtle colour gradient so that from a distance it would look like a painting.”
Jacob Kallergis, product manager for Epson Europe’s on-demand ColorWorks printer range added: “We wanted to create something for Labelexpo that celebrated the label in all its many shapes, sizes, textures and colours. Businesses that print clear, attractive and even beautiful labels will raise their brand above the competition.”
“Labels are crucial to so many industries, but their importance is often overlooked. For pharmaceuticals, labels are vital from a commercial as well as a health and safety perspective. For the food and drink industry, labels need to capture the imagination of shoppers as well as containing vital ingredient details. In logistics, labels carry essential locational information to ensure easy identification and efficient delivery of product.”
