Epson launches first laser ultra-short-throw projector for the home as a viable alternative to oversized TVs

Epson has launched its first laser ultra-short-throw projector for the home (EH-LS100). Unlike standard throw models, it’s easy to set up close to the display area, plus its long-lasting laser light source means it’s an attractive, high-quality solution for big screen entertainment.
Paul White, product manager, says, “We’re really excited to launch this fantastic new product into our range. It answers a common problem – how can I enjoy the big screen experience without it affecting the look of my home? There’s no getting away from a huge, black TV screen, but a projected display can disappear at the touch of a button. With the EH-LS100 you don’t have to worry about installation issues as it can be positioned just 6cm away from the display surface. It’s also far more flexible than a TV as the display can go from 70 to 130 inches. This type of flexibility is great for changing the scale to reflect what you’re watching.”
Anyone can get this Full HD projector up and running with minimal effort. Accessing content is straightforward with three HDMI inputs (including one MHL), that are designed for connecting DVD players, games consoles and more. This versatile model is also simple to control; over a home network using the RJ45 connection or with Wi-Fi connectivity via the optional adapter ELPAP10. With both options, it’s easy to control the projector using a smart device via the iProjection app.
Even where there’s ambient light, users can enjoy vivid and lifelike images thanks to 3LCD technology with an equally high White and Colour Light Output (CLO) of 4,000 lumens. It also delivers defined shadow detail and deep blacks with its 2,500,000:1 contrast ratio. In addition, Detail Enhancement provides sharper and smoother pictures.
This projector provides a hassle-free and long-term option for home users. The EH-LS100 can serve as the main platform for watching TV shows, playing games and watching blockbusters as its long-lasting laser light source can provide up to 10 years’ worth of entertainment1. It also includes a five year warranty for total peace of mind2.
The EH-LS100 is available from November 2017.
