Slovenian print shop chooses SureColor SC-F2000 for t-shirt printing

Slovenian print shop T.K.B.M. bought a SureColor SC-F2000 for printing test t-shirts, and found it was ideal for short print runs for customers.

In the 90s, Ljubljana residents Marjan Belec and Tomaž Kopač hired out sound systems for events, but looking for more regular business, they decided to open a small print shop in their uncle's garage. T.K.B.M. has grown from there, and now offers wide range of print services, from paper offset, pad, screen and digital printing to digital textile printing.

The company has around thirty employees, but with increased investment and business expansion, plans to expand its workforce. T.K.B.M. bought a SureColor SC-F2000 to fill their t-shirt printing requirements, as it allows direct to garment (DTG) printing, which complemented existing screen and transfer printing services.

"We tested several t-shirt printers from different manufacturers, and found that all of these types of printers were based on Epson technology. It was really simple to make the decision - if we need Epson technology, then we'll buy from Epson," says Tomaž Kopač, one of the founders of T.K.B.M. "Printers from competitors are based on Epson printers intended for paper printing, with an extended tray for t-shirts. The SC-F2000, on the other hand, is purpose-built for direct-to-garment printing, which is why we bought it. In just two months of use we've already produced a very large number of t-shirts. Production from our print shop has to be high quality, which is just what we have achieved with the SC-F2000."

The SureColor SC-F2000 fulfils requirements for printing small orders very well which, according to Tomaž Kopač, adds extra versatility over their previous solution. "This printer is excellent for printing the test t-shirts we show to clients. Now, when a client requests a small order, we just print the t-shirts on the Epson SC-F2000 printer. Printing a few samples is really easy with this printer, and means we can now choose the size of the print, contrast and position on the shirt in consultation with the client."

"We introduced this process as a form of monitoring, by printing the design and sending it to the customer. Now we can provide a much better solution and customers are extremely happy with the service," says Tomaž Kopač.
