Eyes on Media chooses SureColor SC-S30600

At the Eyes On Media print and finishing department, there have been a lot of changes over the past 15 years, since the switch from analogue to digital photo editing. Where Eyes On Media was previously a professional laboratory and a centre for professional photographers, digitalisation provided new client groups.

Background

Mario Kist, one of the partners at Eyes On Media, explains: "Photographers still visit us to purchase and hire professional photography equipment, lights, tripods and supplies, but we rarely print their work. Now our printing clients are mainly retail companies, museums, architects, authorities, advertising agencies, artists and exhibition organisers - a diverse range. All these clients have specific demands and requirements that we wish to meet. One way to do this is to always remain a step ahead."

Kist is not only referring to the inclusion in the range of new kinds of output for inkjet printers, such as the static film and ferrous paper that does not need to be mounted on site and allows for quick switches without causing damage. The quality of the machinery is very important too. Through staying on top of developments in the field and making the right investments, Eyes On Media now has the most advanced machines, in order to meet market demand. One of these is Epson's SureColor SC-S30600, which delivers improvements in quality and professionalism.

Quality comes first

"We guarantee the highest quality prints. In order to deliver this quality, I believe it is important to keep a close eye on developments in the field of printing," says Kist. When Kist compared inkjet printers from a range of brands, he eventually chose to purchase Epson's SureColor SC-S30600.

"The deciding factor for me was the fact that Epson printers are always good," said Kist, as Eyes On Media was already using an Epson Stylus Pro 11880 for fine art printing.

Kist continues: "And we know from experience that Epson printers produce professional quality prints."

The advantages of the SureColor SC-S30600

As well as the exceptional sharpness of the prints, Epson's SC-30600's speed is also excellent. Said Kist: "At the print and finishing department, we now work much more towards a total product - the application. The finishing part has become an important element, most of the work is printed and mounted or printed directly onto the desired material, then processed on our digital cutting and milling machine. As well as posters, wall visuals, banners and stickers, we now also produce complete displays, packaging and covers for alarm gates at retail chains, for example. There is more work and lead times continue to decrease, but with the SC-S30600 that is no longer a problem."

Eyes On Media has been using Epson's SureColor SC-S30600 printer since March 2012. Kist explains enthusiastically: "We were the first SureColor SC-S30600 user in the Netherlands. Printing on this machine saves us a lot of time. The quality is also outstanding. The sharpness of the prints is very good. Other positives include the fact that the machine requires little maintenance, is easier to start up and needs to be cleaned less regularly.

"The teething problems experienced during the introduction were also resolved to our satisfaction by Epson. But the best thing is the compliments we receive from clients about the fantastic quality we achieve with the SureColor SC-S30600. A sign we made the right choice," concludes Kist.
