Epson wraps up a successful ISE 2017 by winning Best Large Stand

Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2017, as well as being the biggest event yet, both in size and number of attendees, was a highly successful event for Epson. This is not least because the Epson stand won the award for Best Large Stand (over 100m²) as part of the ISE Stand Design Awards, in their inaugural year. The awards, given by ISE in association with Exhibitor Magazine, and judged by a panel of exhibition industry professionals are based on a range of criteria including how well the stand communicates the brand’s key messages, how space, graphics and lighting are used effectively, how easy it is to navigate, and its overall impact.

According to the judging panel, “A consistent design language throughout the entire, massive space helped Epson take home an award in the More Than 100 Metres category. Judges also appreciated a similarly consistently high quality of digital content.”

Epson’s stand was designed to demonstrate the brightness and effectiveness of our 3LCD projector technology as well as our Moverio smart glasses. The most striking part of the stand was a dramatic demonstration is of projection mapping technology, as 14 EB-L25000U projectors – currently the brightest 3LCD laser projectors on the market¹ – map colourful patterns onto a Formula One car mounted on a wall.

The 3D projection mapping solution was developed for Epson by mclcreate, and mirrored the geometric shapes of the stand design. Patterned projection windows encircled the car, filled with linked narratives, one of which followed the car, moving from the grid onto an F1 circuit, before transforming into bursts of vibrant colours, shapes and effects to demonstrate the power and versatility of the projector. mclcreate’s team of four expert technicians built the precision setup in just 36 hours.

This colourful centrepiece was surrounded by vivid demos of other installation, business, mobile and ultra-short throw projectors, shoot-outs against competing products, and talks from industry experts and Epson representatives, in a stand with a crisp, contemporary design and spacious feel.

Neil Colquhoun, executive director of professional displays, Epson Europe, says, “Stand design is vitally important in both creating brand identity and showcasing products effectively, not to mention making sure you stand out in a crowded, noisy exhibition hall. Based on the amount of interest we attracted during the show, it looks like we succeeded in this. We put a great deal of thought and hard work into our exhibition stands, so it’s incredibly gratifying to be rewarded for that effort. I’d like to say thanks to ISE and Exhibitor Magazine on behalf of the entire team for choosing us for the awards in their opening year.”
