Universal Pixels goes on tour with Epson projectors

Universal Pixels, has become the latest rental and video production staging specialist to add Epson’s laser projectors to its product portfolio.

Established just 6 months ago, UK based Universal Pixels has already supplied bespoke video solutions for some of the world’s best known bands.  The impressive line-up includes names such as Radiohead, The Killers, Blondie, Robbie Williams, Gorillaz, Rick Astley, Primus and Agnes Obel.

Universal Pixels is using Epson’s EB-L25000U laser projectors as part of the staging for Radiohead’s current world tour, Moon Shaped Pool, which includes a headline performance at Glastonbury 2017 at the end of June.  London grime collective, Boy Better Know also used two of the 25,000 lumens projectors to launch its takeover of London’s The 02 on August’s bank holiday weekend, and Rick Astley’s recent tour included a laser projection show using Epson’s compact and punchy 8,000 lumens EB-L1405U installation projectors.

Phil Mercer of Universal Pixels said: “We first saw Epson’s professional installation laser projectors when they were announced at InfoComm last year and were immediately impressed by their build quality and performance capabilities.  It’s refreshing to have something new and exciting in this market.  But what makes Epson’s projectors really appealing is their ability to adapt to different light and environmental challenges.  With a quick succession of global tour dates requiring efficient load in’s and load outs,  we need reliable projectors that we can install quickly and easily that can also withstand the most demanding of locations.  These can range from outdoor festivals in hot climates where dust can be challenging and a very compressed time-frame for line up in darkness overnight, to indoor arenas where weight and size are at a premium.  The Epson projectors can be unloaded straight from the truck and installed quickly without compromising on image quality, colour and brightness.”

Charlotte Hone, business manager, Epson UK, says: “Universal Pixels are working with some of the biggest names in the live entertainment sector in some really challenging environments.  The addition of our professional installation projectors to their line-up is a fantastic endorsement and further validation of the projectors’ build quality, flexibility, adaptability and “fit and forget” convenience.”
