Epson offers labelling solutions for top colour, control and cost-effectiveness at PPMA Total Show

26 – 28 September, NEC, Birmingham, Stand E44

Visitors to the PPMA Show will find comprehensive labelling solutions on the Epson stand (E44).  Epson ColorWorks desktop label printers and hands-free LabelWorks devices will be demonstrated. A new feature to look out for on the ColorWorks C3500 printer is the enhanced colour solution to provide users with greater image definition and better colour contrast.

“The PPMA Show allows us to meet with technicians and engineers looking to integrate labelling into a manufacturing or production environment and we can be involved in projects from an early stage and guide them and offer choice,” says Dayle Guy, product manager for Epson (UK). “We have on demand labelling solutions that can meet the toughest legislative requirements, can help with practical and logistical issues and promote companies and their brands.”

“Companies come to Epson, and return again and again, because of our colour expertise, the industry renowned reliability of our equipment, the fact we manufacture the hardware and also the printheads and ink, our extensive service back up and because the total cost of ownership (return on investment) is so competitive.”

The Epson ColorWorks range of inkjet label printers offer a quality, cost effective solution for print on demand applications. Users no longer have to order high volumes of labels but can print what they want, when they want at the point of production.

The Epson ColorWorks C7500 will be on show operating with a reel to reel rewinder, outputting high quality labels as it would within a manufacturing environment. Featuring Epson’s PrecisionCore printhead, the ColorWorks C7500 provides reliable, high quality results and its unique Nozzle Verfication Technology (NVT) and dot substitution helps prevent misprints and dead pixels so that consistent print quality is maintained. It prints at up to 300mm/second and at 600 x 1200dpi image resolution and can produce a wide range of media, from continuous tickets to synthetic die-cut labels with a matte or gloss finish.

The ColorWorks C3500 is a labelling system that is ideal for independent producers and manufacturers requiring shorter print runs and lower volumes of labels, tags and tickets. It is a 103mm/second model which can handle a variety of media, including matte and gloss-coated papers and synthetic media in a wide range of formats and sizes.

This inkjet printer lays down colour from the printhead in a series of “passes” over the substrate;  the new four pass process and it is that development which enhances the depth of colour and improves the contrast and quality results. Users can upgrade their printers to include the new high quality print mode by installing the latest firmware and drivers from the Epson web site. The ColorWorks C3500 will be demonstrated producing eye-catching product labels.

The Epson ColorWorks C831 is the GHS certified printer for producing 8 inch wide durable colour labels and is especially suited to creating safety and signage labels to meet current and potential legislation. Applications include GHS and British Safety labels and products for energy, pharmaceutical and food sectors plus many more! The combination of MicroPiezo variable droplet technology, DURAbrite Ultra pigment inks and PE Matte label media provide labels which are light fast and resistant to abrasion and exposure to alcohol, oil and many chemicals. This printer runs at 97mm/second and produces at 5760 x 1440dpi quality. It can operate in the harshest environments, even petrochemical.

The Epson LabelWorks range of mobile handheld label printers are ideal for peripatetic applications such as installation operators, maintenance contractors, builders and plumbers. These models can produce high visibility safety, signage and magnetic shelf edge and racking labels. Typical applications include labelling for electrics, cabling (including audio and video cabling), data comms equipment, pipes and machinery.

Finally, Epson will demonstrate its 4-axis robot. Epson has supplied commercial robots for over 30 years and this side of its business will continue to expand and provide innovative solutions to industry and the wider world moving forward.

“There will be a focus on warranties and the Epson service cover plus plans,” says Mr Guy. “We anticipate a busy PPMA and welcome anyone interested in our comprehensive solutions. Epson equipment will also feature on the stands of our partners."
