Universal Pixels Marks Commitment to Epson with Investment in Stage Projectors

Universal Pixels has marked its commitment to Epson by purchasing a range of laser projectors for use in some of the world’s largest music tours. The rental and video production staging specialist has purchased EB-L25000U projectors, as well as EB-L1505U projectors and lenses. From large-scale laser shows to custom stage projections, the projectors will be used on tour with the likes of James Blunt, Radiohead, Chris Rea and Rick Astley.

UK-based Universal Pixels added Epson’s laser projectors to its product portfolio in September 2017, when it chose the EB-L25000U laser projectors for use as part of the staging for Radiohead’s current world tour, Moon Shaped Pool, which included a headline performance at Glastonbury 2017 at the end of June.

Demand for its bespoke video solutions has taken off and a busy schedule of back-to-back projects led Universal Pixels to make the strategic decision to invest in purchasing the kit, instead of sub-renting. Owning its own range of Epson projectors will allow the business more flexibility for creating world-class staging.

Oliver Luff, director at Universal Pixels said, “It was a no-brainer to invest in the kit. We were in a position, where, due to a healthy pipeline of projects, this investment made a lot of sense. Being one of the first to market with a viable 25,000 lumen product, Epson was the logical choice.”

“This year we’ve delivered outstanding live shows at some of the most demanding locations on the global tour calendar for some of the entertainment industry’s biggest names. The ability of Epson’s projectors to adapt to different light and environmental challenges, plus the ease and speed of installation has been critical in this success.  Looking to the future, we want to deliver projections in 4K and are confident that Epson will help us do so.”

Charlotte Hone, business manager, Epson UK, says: “We’re so pleased that Universal Pixels chose to make an investment in Epson projectors. For it to make such a significant investment in its first year of operation shows the true quality of Epson’s projectors. It’s great to see how the products can help this incredibly creative business, to realise the vision of some of the world’s biggest entertainment names and raise its profile as a business at the forefront of video production staging”.
