Epson supports ‘Take a view’ Landscape Photographer of the Year 2012 for the fifth year running
30th October, 2012: The ‘Landscape Photographer of the Year’ has finally been announced, with the winner chosen from thousands of entries. This year, for the first time, Epson presented a special ‘Exceed your Vision’ award as part of the competition. This went to Ian Cameron, for his image of Loch Achanalt, in Strathbran, Scotland, where you can almost feel the crispness and coldness of the day. Ian will receive an Epson Stylus R3000 printer (RRP #669.99) that will help him achieve outstanding A3+ prints.
Over 100 of the very best images, including Ian’s, will premier in a free exhibition at the National Theatre in London from 12th November 2012. For the fifth year running, Epson and its DigigraphieTM is partnering with professional photo lab, Bayeux, to produce the exhibition display panels. These will be printed on the Epson Stylus Pro 9900 Large Format Printer with Epson TraditionalPhotographic Paper to ensure prints are of a consistent standard and ‘fine art’ quality.
The Epson Stylus Pro 9900 uses the latest inkjet technology and is the obvious choice to reproduce the winning images in all their glory. The photographs’ true colours will be realised using the Epson UltraChromeTM HDR to deliver the widest colour gamut available today. An outstanding level of detail will be assured with the Stylus Pro 9900’s 10-channel MicroPiezo TFPTM print head and Variable-sized Droplet Technology.
The ‘Exceed your Vision’ award was judged by Epson’s Large Format Printer business manager Nick White and Robin Bernard, director of Bayeux. Nick and Robin were also members of the main Take a view Final Judging Panel. Nick White said: “We are delighted to once again partner with Take a view in the search for the UK’s ‘Landscape Photographer of the Year.’ The standard of entries this year has been exceptional. The new ‘Exceed your Vision’ award presented a new challenge. We were looking specifically for an image that best expressed our strapline, captured our imagination and evoked real emotion. Ian’s beautiful photograph of frosted birch trees does this perfectly and the fine detail will be reproduced sharply and cleanly on the Stylus Pro 9900.
