Epson and Wasatch announce SoftRIP support for ColorWorks C7500 Series colour label printers
3 March 2017 - Epson has been working closely with Wasatch to develop a special label edition of the company’s SoftRIP raster image processing software for Epson’s flagship ColorWorks C7500 Series1, to produce on-demand, full-colour labels with enhanced spot-colour matching. This will be of particular benefit to companies looking to bring their label printing in house, but wanting to ensure that corporate colours are reproduced exactly on product labels or shelf markers.
It will also ensure consistency for companies printing large runs with flexo while using a C7500 Series printer for shorter on-demand print runs, and be invaluable for printers or print service companies looking for a dedicated label-printing solution. As well as improving colour accuracy, the software enables support for continuous media, which can be used without die-cutting or a pre-printed black mark on the liner.
Jacob Kallergis, product manager, Epson Europe, says, “The ColorWorks C7500 Series combined with Wasatch SoftRIP software allows users to deliver accurate colours that meet the most exacting requirements when printing on-demand labels. They’ll also save money, as the advanced colour management that SoftRIP provides means that labels can be produced with better colour balance and a precise amount of ink.”
Wasatch SoftRIP Label Edition for the C7500 Series has a straightforward user interface, ideal for high-speed label production. The software includes extensive colour management options, including spot colour replacement and support for popular file formats including PDF and TIFF. The C7500 Series comprises dedicated label printers that let users quickly adjust label size and create print layouts by adding columns and rows. In addition, rotary cutting marks can be added directly from the main screen of the user interface.
SoftRIP Label Edition is available now from Wasatch partners, or direct from www.wasatch.com
1. Wasatch SoftRIP requires C7500 Series firmware version WAI32000 or later.
