Dr Saget chooses WorkForce Pro WP-M4525 DNF

No savings should be made on technical equipment when it comes to fitting out a medical practice. This also applies to secondary equipment such as multifunctional devices. Dr Klaus Saget and Dr Volker Riesopp speak about their experience.
Many doctors have now realised that they need to run their practices like small businesses in order to react to the cost pressures of the health service. In this regard, practical organisation is an important matter and a modern IT infrastructure in turn is a pre-requisite.
Dermatologists Dr Klaus Saget and Dr Volker Riesopp, who opened a dermatology practice in Germany, also view it in this way. "Our focus is on patient satisfaction. Our objective is to offer the best individual care and treatment, according to the latest medical state-of-the-art techniques," says Dr Saget. But it is not only diagnostic treatment devices that are cutting-edge, the doctors also set great store by modern equipment in the back office.
Ink in the practice
By using Epson's WorkForce Pro WP-4525, Dr Saget and Dr Riesopp have said goodbye to a wide range of equipment in the medical practice including printers, copiers and fax machines. The multifunctional WorkForce Pro can print, copy, fax and scan. It also has standard paper capacity of 330 sheets that can be increased to 580 sheets where necessary. The WP-4525 works at a print speed of up to 16 monochrome A4 pages and 11 colour A4 pages per minute.
This multi-functional device is equipped with a USB 2.0 interface as standard to connect to the local PC. The WP-4525 also comes with a network interface to enable other users in the network to take advantage of the system. It also produces high-quality colour scans at a speed of up to 16 pages per minute. The digitised documents can then be further processed and archived on the connected PC or sent in an email. In addition, employees in the practice can print out directly from the USB stick via the integrated USB connection.
The fax function has all the features expected of a standalone machine. In the health service, in addition to output and cost-effectiveness, printers and multifunctional devices must also fulfil other criteria such as a small footprint, low noise emissions, flexibility and ease-of-use.
"We require a printer which enables us to quickly and conveniently print out patient invoices and correspondence, forms and information sheets for our patients. We have found the exact device we require in the Epson multifunction inkjet printer," concludes Dr Saget. The advantage: By using the Epson printer, the practice has been able to consolidate three smaller laser printers at the same time.
