Epson Manufacturing Facilities in the Philippines and Malaysia Achieved RBA Platinum
Epson Manufacturing Facilities in the Philippines and Malaysia Awarded RBA Platinum
Global technology company Epson announces that its manufacturing sites in the Philippines and Malaysia have both achieved RBA Platinum recognition under the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Validated Assessment Program (VAP), based on audits conducted by RBA-approved, independent third-party firms. This is in addition to a number of Epson’s other manufacturing facilities that have already achieved RBA Platinum. This achievement highlights Epson's continuous commitment to responsible business practices and excellence in corporate social responsibility (CSR).
The RBA is dedicated to promoting ethical business conduct across global supply chains, and the VAP is a key assessment program that evaluates manufacturing facilities against the RBA Code of Conduct. This includes critical areas such as labour practices, health and safety standards, environmental responsibility, and ethical business behaviours. Independent third-party firms approved by the RBA undertake thorough assessments and score facilities based on compliance with these standards.
Epson’s commitment to CSR is underscored by successful VAP assessments across multiple sites in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, China, and the Philippines, with several achieving Platinum status. Platinum recognition is reserved for facilities that have attained a full score of 200.

For European purchasers, RBA Platinum signifies a commitment to ethical manufacturing practices and compliance with rigorous production standards. As companies across Europe increasingly prioritise sustainability and social responsibility, and conscientious consumers demand more transparency with products free from exploitation, RBA accreditation serves as a guarantee that Epson's production facilities adhere to the highest ethical standards, including fair labour practices and safe working conditions. Products from RBA Platinum-certified manufacturers adhere to important EU regulations on sustainability and responsible sourcing, including the EU's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
“Achieving RBA Platinum recognition for our manufacturing operations in the Philippines and now in Malaysia reflects our ongoing commitment to responsible business practices,” said Boris Manev, Epson’s Europe’s director of Corporate Sustainability. “We believe that ethical and sustainable manufacturing is essential not only for our business but also for the communities we serve. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our employees and partners who strive to uphold the highest standards of corporate social responsibility.”
The RBA’s Validated Assessment Program has become the leading standard for onsite compliance verification, facilitating effective and shareable assessments conducted by independent third-party firms. As the program has evolved, it has expanded to include hundreds of auditors from 16 independent firms in over 40 countries, ensuring that companies like Epson are held to rigorous standards of accountability.
