Moments in Construction

26 March 2012 – Epson is proud to support “Moments in Construction”, a new exhibition of works by Japanese photographer Hiroyuki Suzuki at the KPF Gallery in London from Monday 26th March – 25th May 2012 Since starting his career as a photographer in 2006, Hiroyuki Suzuki's core concept ‘A Moment’, has taken him to construction grounds around the world in an ambition to capture unique, singular moments that reflect the fear, instability, but also the hope he sees within these sites. Combining a selection of works taken in Shanghai (2007) and Tokyo (2010), Moments in Construction captures the unique energy and dynamism within the building process that contrasts with the beauty of the finished structures. Hiroyuki Suzuki reveals a sense of optimism from within industrial spaces. One year after the Great Tohoku Earthquake, his photography represents the power of the rebuilding process and the ability of our urban civilisation to endure, whilst also expressing thanks to supporters from around the world for their help following this natural disaster. The impressive and large photographs produced for the KPF Gallery exhibition have been printed by Epson onto Premium Canvas Satin Paper using the Epson Stylus Pro 11880 printer. “For this exhibition I chose to print monochrome photographic images on canvas used for oil paintings,” explains Hiroyuki Suzuki. “The Epson Stylus Pro faithfully and clearly brings out the unique depth of the canvas surface in each photographic work. The canvas media and printer work together to express the harmony between the metal and the mud on the ground, and the high-rise steel frame and sky of the construction sites I chose as subjects." Hiroyuki Suzuki first printed his images using Epson media and printers for his exhibition in Shanghai last year. Since then, Epson has been proud to provide printing support for his exhibitions. Moments in Construction, 26th March - 25th May 2012, KPF Gallery, 7a Langley Street, London. Open: Mon-Fri 9-6pm
