Epson scanners improve business document workflow

21 September 2012 – Epson announces its latest range of A3 and A4 document scanners, offering businesses a choice of specifications and features to best suit their needs. All 12 models are designed to improve efficiency and integrate seamlessly into document management and cloud systems.

High-performance models for demanding businesses

Fitting easily into complex IT systems, these high-performance models handle heavy-duty scanning with ease. The A3-size WorkForce DS-70000 scans up to 70ppm/140ipm, while the A4-size WorkForce DS-7500 scans up to 40ppm/80ipm. To speed up large batch scanning, both offer one-pass duplex scanning, HW JPEG compression and double-feed detection, plus an automatic document feeder with a capacity of 200 A3 pages (WorkForce DS-70000) or 100 A4 pages (WorkForce DS-7500 Series). Multiple users can share the scanners using the optional Network Interface Panel. Alternatively, network-ready models are available: WorkForce DS-70000N and DS-7500N.

Efficient models for businesses of all sizes

The A3-size WorkForce DS-60000 boosts efficiency with a scanning speed of up to 40ppm/80ipm, and a 200-page A3 automatic document feeder. The A4-size WorkForce DS-6500 scans up to 25ppm/50ipm, and features a 100-page A4 automatic document feeder, plus ‘scan-to-cloud’ functions. Both scanners provide one-pass duplex scanning and double-feed detection for trouble-free, multi-page scanning. The optional Network Interface Panel enables easy sharing, and network-ready models are also available: WorkForce DS-60000N and DS-6500N.

Flexible models for thick documents and heavy objects

The A3-size WorkForce DS-50000 and A4-size WorkForce DS-5500 are ideal for scanning bound materials and thick documents. The WorkForce DS-50000 is engineered to accommodate heavy or fragile objects, and supports TWAIN, ISIS and WIA drivers. These models can be used with the optional Network Interface Panel, allowing them to be shared by multiple users, and are also available as network-ready versions: WorkForce DS-50000N and DS-5500N.

Epson Document Capture solutions are compatible with all models to speed up workflow and enable users to capture, convert and distribute scanned information in virtually any document repository or document management system. Epson offers tailored client and server solutions that meet companies’ needs, regardless of their size or IT capabilities.

When combined with Document Capture Pro, the optional Network Interface Panel offers ‘push scan’ features and customisation of ‘scan to job’ commands, such as ‘scan to email’, ‘scan to Microsoft SharePoint®’ and ‘scan to cloud’.

Peter Butler, product manager at Epson UK, says: “These scanners are packed with Epson technology that enables complex tasks to be carried out easily, without the need for any special training. This helps organisations speed-up workflow and improve efficiency.”

Epson ReadyScan LED technology needs no warm-up time, does not contain mercury, and has low power consumption. Along with the scanners’ ENERGY STAR-qualified* power efficiency, this reduces energy bills and impact on the environment..
