Epson selects The Herts Air Ambulance as its official charity partner

18 April 2012 – Staff at Epson’s UK headquarters in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire have chosen Herts Air Ambulance as the company’s new official charity partner.  The two year partnership is part of Epson’s commitment to give back to and support the local community.

The Herts Air Ambulance is a community funded charity which provides a free life-saving Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for Hertfordshire.  From their base at North Weald the team are able to reach the furthest point of Hertfordshire within twenty minutes of receiving details of a 999 call.

Tony Petford, managing director for Epson in the UK said: “I am delighted that we are able to begin this new partnership with Herts Air Ambulance.  As a major employer in Hertfordshire its important that we are able to help the work carried out by charities in our local area.  What makes this partnership even more special is that its our staff who voted to support the work of this life saving service”.

The speed with which the Air Ambulance Crew can reach a patient is crucial and, with a HEMS Doctor Paramedic team on board, patients receive the sort of care only usually available in a hospital A&E Department.  Such timely intervention can make all the difference between life and death and gives the patient the best possible chance of making a full recovery.

The Charity needs to raise around £130,000 each month in order to keep flying and saving lives.  Epson hopes to play an important supporting role over the next 2 years, through the generous help of staff who will be taking part in a number of fundraising activities.
