Epson Appoints Ingram Micro Data Capture/POS Division in UK
3 July 2013 – Epson has appointed Ingram Micro Data Capture/POS Division (IM DC/POS) to sell its Point of Sale printers, colour label printers and its TM Intelligent range in the UK.
IM DC-POS, based in Maidenhead, will also sell Epson’s latest range of intelligent printers, Epson TM-T88V-i and TM-T70-i, which use Epson’s ePOS print technology. This enables users to print out receipts, tickets and coupons at the point of sale, as well as in back office and kitchen environments, directly from tablets and other mobile devices.
Andrew Coxall, distribution account manager for Epson UK comments: “We partnered with IM DC/POS as they have the right mix of experience, technical skills and market knowledge to bring our solutions to more organisations and increase our share of the UK market. They are significant players who understand this specialist market, with the resource and infrastructure of the Ingram organisation to support their efforts.”
Andrew continues: “We have worked with IM DC/POS in some of our other European markets for some time, and this new UK appointment underlines the strength of the relationship that already exists. This complements the strong links that Epson has had with Ingram Micro for many years”
Ernesto Schmutter, Senior Director IM DC/POS EMEA, is delighted by this expansion of the relationship between IM DC/POS and Epson: “Having successfully supplied Epson’s POS products in Scandinavia and France, we see the UK as our next focus market, where this superb and complementary range will substantially enrich our portfolio.”
Senior Manager, Mark Cheetham, echoes the sentiment: “I’m very excited that we have added Epson to our UK and Ireland partner list. Their best-in-class products will play a significant role in growing our reseller partners’ POS business in these important markets. We look forward to experiencing the same steep growth curve with Epson as our other vendors have enjoyed during the last four years.”
