The SC-S40610 guarantees the quality for the school’s future printers

The Secondary school of advertising design and printing in the Czech Republic teaches artistic disciplines and educates a future generation of graphic designers and artists in printing, design and promotional services. It needed a top-quality professional printer and chose Epson's SureColor SC-S40610.

The SureColor SC-S40610 perfectly matches the requirements of technological development

The use of Epson printers is a tradition at the school. “We first announced a tender for large-format inkjet printing five years ago. At that time we chose the Epson Stylus GS6000 for outdoor prints and the Epson Stylus 7890 for all other printing. We wanted to update these printers, and the advances in inkjet technology were the main reason for our decision, especially the reduced running costs. The Epson machine once again won in our tender,” said Rudolf Volhejn, director of the Secondary School of Advertising Design and Printing.

The decisive criterion for selecting the new printer was quality. “We educate professionals for the printing industry. Therefore, quality is a matter of course. Our school is a member of the education committee of the Association of Printing Entrepreneurs in Prague. The Association has developed a binding standard for equipping a school with future printers. We also monitored the price to performance ratio,” explained Rudolf Volhejn. Inkjet technology complement's the school's offset, screen printing, pad printing and production technology.

An innovative way of cleaning

The new printer has many advantages for a school and it has proved to be the ideal instrument for teaching. "We especially appreciate the unwinding/winding mechanism and drying medium. The mechanism is precise and so far we have failed to create ‘waves'. Although the machine is equipped with a standard CMYK, it has almost the same gamut as a multi-colour machine. The outstanding features of the printer are its quiet operation and innovative way of cleaning with interchangeable cartridges,” said Rudolf Volhejn.

The SureColor SC-S40610 offers the possibility of creative work, whether it be printing for sign making, cutting-edge graphics and decorations. The school uses it in a variety of fields. “We use the printer for training in our student printing curriculum and for orders. Income from orders is our only source of funding for the running of the machine. The printing press is used by graphic design to print on a range of standard media - paper, banner, vinyl and canvas," added Rudolf Volhejn.
