Epson launches remote service printer diagnostics software (ERS – Epson Remote Services) to reduce service requirements, time and cost for office automation dealers

Epson has launched new software to provide remote service solutions for office automation dealers to help improve the management of business inkjet printer fleets. Enabling remote diagnostics and problem fixes, as well as reduced on-site service requirements and higher first-fix rates, this free of charge software will help reduce service cost as well minimise product downtime.
Accessing product data uniquely available to authorised technicians, the software allows dealers to remotely view error messages in order to accurate diagnose faults with products and fix them remotely or send out service engineers armed with the correct data and parts when required, increasing first-fix success.
“Selling 100% indirectly we need to ensure that our dealers are armed with the best solutions to provide the best service to their end users,” says Patrick Perrot, Epson Europe. “Epson Remote Service means they can receive real-time alerts should an issue arise, as well as remotely monitor diagnostics for printer fleets they manage, meaning that issues can be spotted and resolved quickly or understood before a service engineer is dispatched.”
“We were one of the companies that participated in the soft launch of Epson Remote Services,” says Vinicio Lazzerini, Quaiz srl, Italy. “We immediately appreciated the features of this tool: it is very powerful and effective software both in terms of monitoring and remote intervention.
“The software allows us to anticipate customer needs and act remotely when problematic situations arise, avoiding possible downtime. We can activate intervention procedures and cleaning cycles if necessary, thanks to precise monitoring, which is especially important for high productivity customers. One customer of ours, who manages an outsourcing service for local Italian public administration, prints up to fifteen thousand pages per day using Epson Enterprise printers. This customer is very satisfied because we’re able to provide certainty of a continuous and high-quality service without interruptions.”
