Epson launches its range of printers, scanners and, projectors in Zambia

November 2013, Lusaka – Epson, leaders in print and projection technology, celebrated its presence in Zambia at a two-day event hosted in Lusaka, where it introduced its range of printers, scanners and projectors to the local market in partnership with its three local distributors.

“Epson is a truly global brand. We believe it is vital to have local businesses in each country representing us, which is why we have chosen to grow our presence in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) through a network of locally established and experienced technology distributors,” said Hennie Crous, Epson’s senior corporate account manager for the Africa region.

“After having evaluated a number of distributors in Zambia, we were most impressed with Clayton Communications, Tarsus Africa, and Comztek Zambia, and we are very pleased to partner with them and welcome them to the Epson distributor family.”

The selection of Epson products that are available in Zambia includes printers, projectors, scanners and the relevant consumables required to manage them at optimal efficiency. Each product range has models suited for many different large and small business sectors including retail and hospitality, design and advertising, photography, architecture, engineering, manufacturing, mining, tourism and government, to name a few.

“We have been designing and supplying high profile and professional audio visual solutions to home users, retailers and corporates for more than 35 years,” says Sarah Clayton of Clayton Communications. “We are delighted to establish ourselves in the Zambian market with Epson’s range of projectors, as they offer the best in image quality and ease of use, supported by Epson’s continuous investment in innovation.”

“Tarsus is an established distributor on the African continent, and we recently expanded our footprint in the sub-Saharan region by opening our Zambian local office in response to demand from the local market,” says Shaun Robinson of Tarsus Zambia. “This local presence means that we are able to provide our Zambian customers with an even greater level of support, in addition to giving them access to Epson’s ranges of projectors, printers and scanners for home, corporate or government use.”

“Comztek Zambia has an established track record of representing the Epson brand in Zambia, and we are looking forward to expanding the range of Epson products that are available to the local market,” says Deirdre Bailey of Comztek Zambia.

All three distributors will also join Epson’s Channel Partner Programme, which currently has over 250 partners throughout Southern Africa. The programme was refreshed in 2010, introducing a number of new benefits that sawall Epson channel partners receiving standardised benefits, rebates and trading terms, and providing equal opportunities for both large and small partners to succeed.

“We’re very excited to have these three outstanding companies come on board as new Epson distributors. With their extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the local

business environment, we look forward to seeing them become strong distributors of our products to the extensive reseller network in Zambia,” Crous concludes.
