Tombazis Associates Architects chooses Epson

A.N. Tombazis & Associates bought a SureColor SC-T5000 and found it invaluable when printing technical plans for its next major architectural project

The architectural firm Alexandros N. Tombazis & Associates, was founded in 1963 and specialises in architectural design and supervision at all project levels, both in Greece and abroad. It has participated in a number of European Union programmes related to the bioclimatic design of specific buildings.

The firm's work is regularly presented at architecture exhibitions and international conferences,. and in journals, it has won awards in a number of architecture competitions in Greece and internationally.

The range of projects that the Tombazis firm undertakes on an international level and its participation in architecture competitions require the firm to stay up to date with technological developments. As part of their continual equipment and software upgrade policy, the firm invested in a SureColor SC-T5000 large-format printer.

Speed, reliability and cost-efficiency

After thorough research and testing, the SureColor SC-T5000 printer was selected because it was ideal for an architectural firm which considers speed and economy for CAD and GIS work, and the printing of technical graphics to be of utmost importance. At the same time, it offered high precision and true colours for photorealistic prints. In addition to using water-based inks, the SC-T5000 is Energy Star certified for its power efficiency, reducing impact on the environment.

Enhanced productivity and efficiency

With the SureColor SC-T5000 printer, productivity and efficiency have been enhanced, since the printer includes a non-consumable printhead, meaning that the company's printing costs relating to head changes were reduced. Furthermore, the SC-T5000 uses UltraChrome XD inks which withstand the elements, meaning good quality printing of drawings for site projects and suitable durability for short-term outdoor use, reducing the needs for reprints.

The SC-T5000 meets the firm's high service quality standards, both in terms of its features and the quality of its output. The SureColor SC-T5000 is able to print on rigid materials that have a thickness of up to 1.3 mm, for the creation of flawless mock-ups and 3D models as part of architectural designs. At the same time, it features a small footprint and sleek design, so it meets the firm's ergonomic needs.
