Epson eyes Kenyan market with new range of printers
JUNE 13, 2012 – Responding to customer demand for low cost, hassle-free printing, Epson has launched into the Kenyan market its first range of inkjet printers that feature an integrated ultra-high-capacity ink tank system.
The ultra-high capacity inkjet printers are designed to offer reliable, cost effective colour printing and can be refilled without the mess or hassle of other ink tank systems. The L800, L200 and L100 models will be retailing at KES 30,299, KES 18,789 and KES 17,069 respectively and each of the printers will be fully covered by Epson’s warranty and offers an ultra-low cost per page.
The launch of the ultra-high capacity inkjet printers comes barely two weeks since the company enhanced its presence in Sub-Saharan Africa with the reinforcement of a regional business platform in Kenya. The move is part of the company’s growth strategy which aims at helping Epson to increase its market share and sales this financial year.
Thus, the introduction of the new range of ultra-high capacity printers reinforces the company’s commitment to increasing its business presence in the local market and is line Epson’s product roll-out plan which will see the company launch over 140 new products with each one of them engineered for business, offer superior after-sale-service and strengthen its distribution network in emerging markets like Kenya and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Speaking during the launch of ultra-high capacity inkjet printers, Epson Regional Manager for East Africa Mukesh Bector said; “With these ultra-high-capacity ink tanks, and high-volume ink bottles for easy refills, these models print both business documents and photos effortlessly, at low cost. Epson customers can be assured that they are getting maximum value, reliability and peace of mind from their printer with Epson’s included warranty.”
Epson is a global imaging and innovation leader that is dedicated to exceeding the vision of customers worldwide through its compact, energy-saving, high-precision technologies, with a product line-up ranging from printers and 3LCD projectors for business and the home, to electronic and crystal devices.
The range consists of the Epson L800, L200 and the L100. All feature Epson's Fast Ink Top-up (FIT) technology which minimises ink leakage. This technology includes specially designed air-tight caps and filters, as well as a choke valve which controls the flow of ink to prevent backflow. This also means users can easily and safely transport the printer to wherever you need to work without hassle.
The L800, a single function photo printer, comes with six individual 70ml Epson genuine ink bottles – black, cyan, magenta, yellow, light cyan and light magenta. Users can print high-quality borderless photos up to A4 size and print directly onto printable CDs and DVDs with life-like, long-lasting results. Photo printing can be completed quickly and efficiently as printing a 10 x 15cm photo takes as little as 12 seconds[1].
The L200 is a multi-function device which prints, scans and copies documents quickly and easily; while the L100 is a standalone printer for those who do not require scan and copy functions. Four individual 70ml Epson genuine ink bottles are included with both models – black, cyan, magenta, and yellow – as well as two extra blacks. These printers can print up to 4,000 pages in black and 6,500 pages in colour[2], delivering an ultra-low cost per page for both black and colour printing. The two extra black ink bottles further increase the mono print yield by an extra 8,000 pages.
