METRO SA is a purely Greek company, operating towards the strengthening of Greek entrepreneurship and the uncompromising quality in its products and services. The
company operates through two types of stores, My market, for retail sales, and METRO Cash & Carry for wholesale.

 

By the end of 2015, the My market branch network listed more than 66 shops in Attica, while METRO Cash & Carry had 46 outlets. In February 2016, the company acquired Veropoulos chain extending its network across Greece, with 220 stores and 9,800 staff members. The company's philosophy is mainly based on developping relationships of trust with the customer and on its top quality products.

METRO Cash & Carry stores and My market trust, since 2005 for its cash systems, Epson retail receipt printers, namely Epson TM-T88III. Reliability, durability, speed is the key features of the printers as well their advanced technology that makes them market leaders

Inside the stores, coupons are printed on QR barcode receipts for the identification of electronic service coupons, as well as for automatic storage and archiving of data of proof.

During 2015 the market METRO bought 300 Epson TM-T20II and thanks to the high performance and reliability of the specific POS, the company proceeded in 2016 with the purchase of 800 more products, to meet the needs of expanding stores, but mainly to utilize the features of Epson's receipt printer and provide greater speed and reliability in customer service.

Epson’s TM-T20II fully meets the needs of METRO stores for speed, reliability and economy in an intensive retail environment. The two installations were made at 47 METRO Cash & Carry shops and on the 149 former stores of Veropoulos, in order to achieve the smooth and without downtime or problematic functioning of the cashiers.

The ease of use and high speed printing saves time at the registers, while the automatic reduction function in the margins of each receipt, minimizes the cost of the paper and
helps control the amount used. The cost of paper is minimized by printing the logo on top of the page of the next receipt before cutting to reduce more from the top margin at 20mm.

 

This series of printers also provides great reliability due to its maximized lifetime that reaches 15 million lines, but also because of its flexibility, providing different ways of interconnecting for the both available models. The selection refers to the USB interface or serial +USB + Ethernet, having anytime the option to switch from one to another.

 

The speed in customer service aiding to reduce queue at the cashiers, combined with low operating costs and the competitive price of Epson TM-T20II, save money and place these receipt printers in the first place on the selection list for the demanding environments of retail service, such as the super market, My market.
