New RIP software helps get the best from your printer
Epson has announced Edge Print RIP software, designed for F-Series textile printers. It’s bundled with new printers to help you get the best possible results, quickly, delivering high performance with Adobe’s PS core engine to process Post Script data for a variety of file formats. Running on Windows, with simple setup and no need for a dongle, it allows users to manage up to four printers with easy set up, providing simple file management, colour control, screening, step and repeat and nesting.
Epson Edge Print helps customers to get the best possible quality output by using Precision Dot technology, which chooses the optimum droplet sizes and screening patterns. It harmonises three key Epson technologies: Half Tone Module, LUT (Look-up Tables) and Micro Weave. Used with Epson’s own wide gamut profile to maximise colour gamut, it creates smooth gradations, delivers colour constancy under different light conditions, and reduces graininess.
Edge Print also works in harmony with other Epson tools, including the LFP Accounting Tool. With Epson Control Dashboard integrated into the software, it provides customers with printer status and the ability to download print configuration for their media from the Epson media library and send directly to the printer.
“In order achieve high quality output the customer needs to set print parameters. To aid this process Epson has prepared Edge Print validated pre-sets including ICC profiles that can be downloaded from the cloud,” says Neil Greenhalgh, textile product manager, Epson Europe. “Combined with the link to Epson’s LFP Accounting Tool, we can also help you calculate the value of each print, based on ink and paper consumption – giving you better visibility and provisioning on each job. This complete solution gives reliable, high-quality and accurate results, reduces wastage and allows scaling of production, which boosts business and speeds up production.”
Initially released with the SC-F9300, the new updated version to be launched in March will now support the range of Epson dye sublimation printers (SC-F6200, SC-F7200 SC-F9200) and will be bundled with every new printer. Available as an option for existing owners.
Epson Edge Print is available from March 2018.
