Epson introduces dye inks in new range of ColorWorks on-demand digital label printers

Epson, the leading global technology company and pioneer in on-demand industrial label printing, announces a new range of ColorWorks label printers complete with innovative UltraChrome DYL dye inks—the CW-D6000 [1] series. The new range of label printers feature specially formulated and highly versatile dye inks that offer enhanced durability on glossy media and colour reproduction, expanding the potential for industrial digital label printing for a variety of new applications.

The new ink series is being introduced to complement our existing range of pigment inks. This enables Epson to offer the right option for every application and to meet very specific customer needs. The new dye inks have been specially formulated to meet the demanding labelling needs of retailers, corporates, professional graphics and bespoke packaging & labelling industries.

Key qualities include:

  • Vivid colour reproduction: a dynamic palette with a broader spectrum of colours, enabling consistent and precisely matched vibrant labels with deep contrasts, perfectly suited for premium branding.
  • Enhanced rubbing resistance on glossy media: enhanced abrasion and rubbing resistance to ensure labels maintain their integrity and high-quality appearance on glossy media.
  • Profound black tones on glossy media: exceptional depth of black, ideal for applications requiring bold visual impact and contrast.

The CW-D6000 range of on-demand label printers are based on the successful C6000 series and are designed to eliminate pre-printing costs, reduce waste, and minimise overstock of pre-printed labels. With image resolutions reaching 1200 x 1200 dpi and speeds of up to 119 mm/sec, the CW-D6000 series ensure high-definition reproduction of label colour as well as barcodes and fine text with minimal run time.

Epson’s ColorWorks integrate advanced features to ensure operational ease, including:

  • Full compatibility with supporting software platforms such as Windows, Linux, MacOS, Android, iOS, and SAP ABAP, offering a smooth user experience with seamless software integration.
  • Efficient operation and intuitive maintenance with convenient and easy access, quick cartridge replacements, and advanced colour management features.
  • PrecisionCore assurance with consistent, high-quality printing with minimal intervention, backed by Epson’s robust CoverPlus service for ultimate peace of mind.

Anton Belousov, ColorWorks product manager, Epson Europe, commented: “Our CW-D6000 series of on-demand colour label printers – complete with new dye ink technology - embodies Epson’s continuous pursuit of innovation designed to meet the needs of industries looking for vibrant and durable label solutions. This series offers unmatched ease-of-use, reliability, and productivity, affirming Epson’s role as the leader in printing innovation.”

Offering versatility with print widths ranging from 4-8 inches, the CW-D6000 accommodates various media, from glossy to textured substrates, with precise colour-matching capabilities for brand alignment. Its unique movable sensor allows for efficient label printing on diverse shapes without the need for a second die cut.

With features like a large 2.7-inch LCD screen for smooth data processing, multiple access points for easy jam clearance, and Epson's uniquely integrated automatic peeler for efficient print & apply operations, the CW-D6000 series represents the latest advancement in modern label printing technology.
