Epson Announces New SureColor P Series Printers for High Image Quality Photo Printing and Proofing

Completing Epson’s range of 10-colour UltraChrome photo printers

Epson announces the launch of two new photo printer lines, the SureColor P7300 (24-inch) and P9300 (44-inch), designed to meet the needs of the retail photography, proofing, graphic, signage, and fine art markets. These new models join the TIPA award-winning [1]17-inch SC-P5300, completing Epson's line-up of high image quality printers tailored to the needs of professional photographers.

The new P7300 and P9300 printers succeed the successful P6000 and P8000 and feature significant upgrades, including faster printing speeds and fitted with Epson’s acclaimed 2.64-inch PrecisionCore™ printhead, ensuring exceptional image quality. The new models incorporate an advanced 10-colour UltraChrome PRO10 ink set, including violet, available in 350ml and 700ml cartridges, enhancing the colour gamut and black density through Black Enhance Overcoat technology, resulting in richer blacks and improved contrast.

With the introduction of the SureColor P7300 and P9300, Epson now offers a full series of high image quality 10-colour UltraChrome photo printers, ranging from 17 to 44 inches, tailored to meet the exacting requirements of professional photographers, photo proofers and fine art users.

The two new P-Series models come equipped with a user-friendly 4.3-inch optical touchscreen that simplifies navigation and a dustproof structure to prevent contamination ingress. Usability enhancements include the Epson Media Installer, Epson Cloud Solution PORT for remote monitoring, a spindle-less roll adaptor, and a front operation mechanism for easy maintenance. Additionally, comprehensive software solutions like Epson Edge Print PRO RIP and compatibility with third-party RIP software facilitate seamless professional printing workflows.

The SC-P9300 and SC-P7300 share the same premium features, employing the UltraChrome PRO ink set with Violet to further expand the colour range. The inclusion of dedicated PK/MK nozzles and an impressive resolution of 2,400 x 1,200 dpi enhances productivity while minimising downtime, ensuring efficient operation.

Key features include:

  • Advanced Performance: Ensuring crisp, detailed prints at high speeds with the PrecisionCore Micro TFP printhead.
  • Superior Image Quality: The new ink set includes multiple black levels and violet ink that significantly enhances the colour gamut, especially in dark blue shades.
  • Versatile Media Handling: Accommodate various media types, including glossy, bond, matte, and rigid poster boards up to 1.5mm thick.
  • Comprehensive Connectivity: High-speed USB and Gigabit Ethernet options to suit any production workflow.
  • Remote Monitoring: Access production status, utilisation rates, print costs, and output volumes via the Epson Cloud Solution PORT.

Marc Boehmer, Epson Europe, commented: “We are delighted to introduce the SC-P9300 and SC-P7300 to the market as they offer unparalleled quality, productivity and efficiency for a range of professionals in retail photography and fine art. With the addition of the two new P-Series printers, we now provide a complete range of professional 10-colour photo printers, including violet, empowering users to produce stunning images and proofs that meet the highest standards.”

The SC-P9300 and SC-P7300 will be available from the beginning of August, and showcased on the Epson stand at Fespa, Berlin, from 6-9 May. Further details and specifications will be accessible on the Epson website and through authorised retailers.
